Benefits of Pigment Ink
Unlike other ID card printers, the CR805 card printer uses pigment ink ribbons. Pigment ink creates more vibrant colors, and when combined with the higher resolution 600 dpi reverse transfer printing technology helps you print high-quality, professional ID cards. Pigment ink is also more resistant to UV damage, so your cards will last longer with less fading.
The CR805 card printer still uses ribbons, but there are a slightly different format from a standard dye sublimation ribbon. Pigment ink ribbons are CMYKP - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and a Primer panel. For dual-sided printing, select a CMYKPKP ribbon.
High-Qualtiy Reverse Transfer Printing
The CR805 card printer is a 600 dpi reverse transfer printing, meaning you can print high-quality and long-lasting cards.
Cards produced by reverse transfer printing are more durable than standard cards because the printing process adds an extra layer of protection - the design is first printed onto a clear film, and then transferred to the card. Because this film is larger than a CR80 card, this allows for true over-the-edge printing. This also makes the cards more secure and tamper-resistant.
And for printing on uneven card surfaces, such as smart cards with embedded chips, a reverse transfer printer is your recommended option to prevent damage to the printhead.
Choose from Three Color Printing Settings
To customize the CR805 card printer for your specific ID card needs, you can choose from three different color print modes:
- True Color (ICC) - prints as close as possible to the colors in the image file
- Legacy SR/CR - close as possible match to the SR200, SR300, and SR300e card printers
- Vivid - prints colors with higher saturation and contrast
Please note that True Color is the default print mode.
