The key to the Magicard Helix is the reverse transfer (also called retransfer) printing process. Unlike the standard dye sublimation process, your card design is first printed on a clear film; that film is then adhered to the card surface.

This process gives you a higher definition print quality, and allows you to print on smart cards with uneven surfaces. It also gives you additional card durability and tamper resistance so the cards will last longer.

As with all Magicard printers, the Helix comes with the built-in HoloKote system and prints a secure watermark across the face of every card at no additional cost – the first reverse transfer printer to offer this.

The Helix also supports the Custom HoloKote Key, which allows users to use your own custom image or text as a watermark. And new with the Helix, you can also choose a Secure HoloKote – a fluorescent version of the HoloKote watermark that will show up under black light.

With a wide range of capabilities, AlphaCard ID Suite Standard Edition makes it easy to produce professional ID cards with robust security features. AlphaCard ID Suite Standard also supports database connectivity for Microsoft Access, Excel, and Text DB. Design and production are simple with a step-by-step card design wizard. Photos can be captured using any TWIAN or WIA-compliant digital ID camera or device. Design elements such as text, graphics and logos, magnetic stripes and barcodes are easy to incorporate into the design.
